The new year will bring more virtual reality gadgets.

2016 will be the year of virtual reality, or that’s what the experts believe. For many years systems were being developed, and the next year, many of them will finally be released. Not every one of them will offer good experiences, but some of them will simply astonish you. If you will afford them.

The new year will bring the launch of Oculus Rift, the showcase every gamer has been waiting for. The head mounted virtual reality display has been built for over three years and will debut in the first quarter of 2017. This will actually be one of the first VR headsets that was targeted for consumers. A great feature of the Rift is that it comes with integrated headphones that will give a 3D effect of the audio. A USB sensor will allow the gamer to stand, sit or walk in the room while using the head display. The downside is that you need a really powerful computer, like a PS4.

A cinematic virtual reality will be created with the help of 360 degree videos and pictures. Games, as well as apps will use these methods to make the virtual world seem more real and will also use 3D technologies. YouTube is one of the apps that will allow you to watch 360 degree videos. Videos that will let you look in any direction you wish will be available. The 360 degree videos are shot with spherical or 360 camera systems record 360 degrees of a scene simultaneously. In the future, the access to these types of cameras won’t be as restricted as they are now and even amateurs like you and I will be able to create this exciting type of video. YouTube will not be the only platform that will offer these videos. More companies are expected to provide this feature as well.

Mobile virtual reality is also possible, but limited. The first VR headset launched by Oculus is called Samsung Gear VR and is a really good and cheap (100$) accessory. The headset allows you to have a 3D experience on your own phone and it is the best VR headset on the market at the present. It is also simple to use and the light headset lets you have a cordless experience. The downside is that only works on certain Samsung Galaxy phones. The mobile virtual reality is expected to grow fast in 2017.

As 2016 will be the year of virtual reality, gamers everywhere and not only will look forward for the new year.
