Amazon’s Cyber Monday sales increased by 40 percent, exceeding all expectations. The company has sold over 23 million items this year during the holiday’s season, which is only 10 percent less than double compared to last year.
During the whole year 2015 the delivery system Fulfillment by Amazon has been delivering over 1 billion items. Besides that the adoption of the Sponsored Products’ seller has doubled in comparison to 2014 at a global level.
The Vice President of Amazon Marketplace, Peter Faricy declared proudly that it has always been hard for local artisans, merchants and sellers to grow their business on Amazon but their services have managed to completely turn that around. One service that has been extremely helpful for everybody is Sponsored Products which provides targeted advertising so sellers can find their clients easily.
Besides that, small sellers’ access to Amazon’s fulfillment gave them the opportunity to serve clients around the globe with minimum costs and effort. When selling on Amazon a person will send their items to Amazon’s fulfillment centers. From there Amazon takes care of everything from picking up to packing and dispatching the item to the customer. More than that, Amazon is also responsible for customer support.
Amazon has also opened new dedicated marketplaces such as Amazon Home Services and Handmade at Amazon to help business and sellers of all sizes reach global customers.
The company is expecting to grow even more in its new marketplaces, which were launched to compete with rivals in each of the industries.
Handmade at Amazon has strong rivals such as Etsy while Amazon Home Services competes with Angie’s List.
People from over 100 countries have sold their products on Amazon during the holidays to customers from an almost double number of countries. Nearly all states on Earth have citizens buying products through Amazon, making it the largest online retailer on the planet.
Another service that did more than well this year is Prime which has gained over 3 million subscribers. For $99 a year Prime subscribers benefit from very fast and free delivery services. Usually it is a two-day delivery but depending on the situation clients can receive their products even during the same day. Over 200 million items have been delivered for free to Prime service users.
Amazon’s own branded devices have also seen an increase this year, with almost twice as many purchases this holiday season compared to the previous one.
