Disney’s first “Frozen” movie was a huge box office hit so it makes perfect sense that there would be a sequel. Fans everywhere are celebrating because Disney has in fact announced that “Frozen 2” is already being created.
As stated by John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, making the first “Frozen” film and working with the characters was so much fun that they wanted to do it again. It then that directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee decided it was time to start working on a second installment of the film.
Although not a lot of information has been released about “Frozen 2” yet, there will be details coming. However, the directors of the film confirmed that viewers will be taken back to Arendelle, something everyone involved in the making of the film is excited about.
The first “Frozen” film was released in 2013 as a 3D computer animated musical fantasy comedy. Inspired by the fairy tale, “The Snow Queen” created by Han Christian Andersen, “Frozen” was the 53rd animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classic lineup.
The storyline follows a brave queen who goes on a journey with a rugged iceman, his pet reindeer, and a naïve snowman in search of her estranged sister. However, the sister has icy powers that have trapped the kingdom in winter.
The first movie went through multiple changes until 2011, it was finally commissioned. In this film, the characters were voiced by Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, Santino Fintana, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad. Whether the same actors will participate in “Frozen 2” remains unknown although when the sequel announcement was made, Josh Gad who is the voice of Olaf was on hand along with Disney’s chief executive officer and chairman, Bob Iger.
There has been no mention of when “Frozen 2” will hit theaters either but fans are anxiously awaiting; confident the second movie will be as good, if not better than the first.
