People Can Double Their Memory Capacity In 40 Days

memory capacity

After training, all the participants doubled their memory capacity.

Most of us don’t have a great memory. Due to the fact that we fill our minds with a lot of information, we tend to forget important things. There are many people that have a great memory capacity. A new study focused on showing how we can improve our memory capacity.

Although we might think that we are born with a certain memory capacity, this is not true. We can train our brain into memorizing more and more every day. Scientists mentioned that it is not hard to train our memory. They also said that we can even double it.

Of course, there are some people that have “special minds”. These people don’t need to train their brain. This study showed that the average brain can be trained and our memory abilities can improve over time. A team of researchers from the Radboud University Medical Center studied how we can train our memory into getting better.

Surprisingly, the team discovered that the brain anatomy of the average people is about the same as those with special brains. The only difference is that the regions in the brain work differently at people with special brains. The participants that were considered to have special brains were World Memory Champions.

In order to show that it is possible to improve our memory capacity, researchers trained average people for 30 minutes every day for 40 days. After this training, all the participants doubled their memory capacity. Before the training, they were able to recall 26 words out of 72. After those 40 days, the participants recalled almost 62 words out of those 72.

This study showed that the human brain is impressive due to the fact that it can be trained to remember more. Another thing that was interesting was that the average people started to have similar connectivity patterns as the ones with a special memory.

Even the researchers were surprised by the outcome of the study. They were expecting to see some increase in the memory capacity. They were not expecting this much. This study shows, once again, that we are the only ones responsible for taking care of our brain and body.

What is your opinion about this study? Do your know that our memory can be trained?
