Mysterious asteroids are heading for Earth on Friday the 13th.
Scientists are warning us to expect an unidentified flying object to fall from the sky today. Fear not however, it is believed the object will fall about 62 miles away from Sri Lanka’s coast, in the Indian Ocean, and it will provoke no damage. The UFO approaches Earth just as a new asteroid that has been spotted will travel these two following days at 78,000 miles per hour, at a 300,000 miles distance from our planet.
The astronomers who discovered the 6.5 feet object in diameter firstly determined that it is not a space rock because it is too light. They’ve come to the conclusion that the UFO is in reality space junk from a flight named Gulfstream 450, chartered by the Space Agency from UAE (United Arab Emirates) and the worldwide Astronomical Center. The flight is transporting scientists from various institutions and universities, such as the two aforementioned, the Ames Research Center of NASA, the Aeronautical University Embry-Riddle, Clay Center Observatory and SETI Institute.
The trajectory of the object supposed to be a rocket booster was calculated by astronomers in 2013. Being lightweight, the object named WTFF1190F also seems to be hollow inside. The object was observed on October 3, as reported by the European Space Agency.
The object’s density was calculated by scientists by noting how much the pressure of solar radiation has changed over the past two years. Organizations from the U.S. and Japan such as DARPA and JAXA are trying to find ways to clean up the space junk which is floating around our planet. The debris surrounding Earth is not just garbage, but can also seriously damage satellites, as they can travel with 17,000 miles per hour.
Jonathan McDowell, astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center declared that in this case the space debris made by man can be considered a piece of history that has returned to us. This is a perfect opportunity for scientists to study the phenomenon and estimate what could happen in case an asteroid would fall on Earth. Apparently the phases of the scenario are very similar, the only difference being of course the size and weight of the object and the outcome. As many enthusiasts expect an unidentified flying object to fall from the sky at any moment, let us hope that the asteroids will avoid us for the time being.
