Facebook is currently trying to add as many new and useful features as they can to the social network. The most recent addition consists in a jobs feature. It will allow companies and various types of businesses to post job openings on their Facebook page.
Although Facebook has not made any official announcement, some companies like Techcrunch, who has discovered the feature on their profile page. As a result, they contacted Facebook more information. In response, the company issued a statement in which they recognize that advertising job openings on Facebook is quite common. The new jobs feature they develop plans to facilitate this process for users.
This places Facebook in direct competition with companies like LinkedIn which has similar features as well as other developers like Workable, Work4, and Jobscore. They create a jobs tab which other companies can embed in their Facebook pages in order to recruit employees on the social network.
The new jobs feature will be available for all Facebook Pages which are designated as businesses. The administrators of the respective pages will see a new option in their status update window. This allows them to share various job postings. They can also include details such as job title, job description requirements, salary, and other relevant information.
The job postings will have a somewhat special format. This will differentiate them from other posts in users’ news feeds in hopes of attracting attention. Additionally, the posting will show up in specially designed Jobs tab on a firm’s page. This creates a dedicated location where companies can send interested users.
Facebook’s new jobs feature presents a variety of benefits for the future employee and companies alike. First, when users decide to apply to a posting, their relevant information will be already completed in from your profile. This allows users to actually save time, especially when they apply for multiple jobs. Second, companies can have a wider audience for their recruitment and also better knowledge of the candidates. Additionally, the firms could gain more followers if not more employees at the very least.
Companies will receive the job applications as a Facebook message. This aspect may lead to some complications by recruiting with customer service. Additionally, companies can also pay more to have their job postings shown to a larger audience.
