There is a new vaping trend among young people and it’s called JUUL. This is actually an electronic cigarette that looks like a flash Drive which you can connect to your computer. It has become so popular that last year, it made 33% of the entire electronic cigarette market. You can legally buy the product but only if you are already 18-years old. According to official numbers, there’s an increase in the 18 to 24-years old age group. The problem is that, according to reports, that many children and teenagers are using them too.
Medical professionals along with parents and educators have become concerned regarding the use of this device. Every JUUL cartridge, which usually lasts about 200 puffs, contains the same amount of nicotine as a normal cigarette pack. This is why parents need to know everything about these new JUUL devices. It’s worth noting that like most E-cigarettes, they are advertised as “healthier” smoking alternatives. Many teenagers and young people are now “juuling” around campuses and high-schools, increasing the popularity of it even more. Another problem is that their similarities with USB drives make them very easy to conceal in school.
JUUL, a new trendy e-cigarette
JUULS also produce a lot less smoke than other similar devices, making them even more unnoticeable. School districts in many states have already voiced their concerns regarding the extensive use of this device. According to Ashley Gould, chief administrative officer at Juul Labs, this device was created only for adults to make it easier for them to quit smoking or to try something else. The company also reportedly has many anti-youth-use initiatives because those devices are not for kids.
The idea behind its interesting design was actually intended as a way for smokers to not be reminded of a real cigarette. It was not about helping kids hide it in school because it looked like a USB stick.
