Los Angeles Lakers star shooting guard Kobe Bryant is expected to miss the remainder of the 2014-2015 season as a result of a significant tear to his rotator cuff in his right shoulder.
This is another injury setback that has been plaguing Kobe Bryant over the last few years. Kobe has had to deal with injuries to his achilles tendon, as well as to his knees, and as a result only was able to play in a total of 6 games last season.
While the organization is certainly going to be hurt from the loss of the Kobe for the remainder of the season, the organization does believe that the future hall of famer will be able to return an d play once again, as he has done so in the past.
“This is one of the toughest guys I’ve ever been around as far as dealing with injuries and things like that and being able to come back,” coach Byron Scott said. “Everybody said he was done after the Achilles and he came back pretty strong.
“Knowing him the way I know him, I know he doesn’t want to go out this way. I think he’ll rehab it if that’s the case and then we’ll have to wait and see.”
Kobe Bryant is expected to take the upcoming weekend to decide if he wants to undergo surgery to repair the tear, but wither way, Kobe won’t be wearing a Lakers’ uniform again this season as a result of the injury.
Kobe has missed 6 of the clubs last 18 games a a result of wear and tear, and before the injury had been voted to his record 17th consecutive all star game.
Kobe has certainly had to deal with some major wear and tear this season, and one can;t help to speculate on how much that played into the injury. Only time will tell if Kobe will play in the NBA once again.
