Microsoft has come up with a new shortcut to make your time spent at the office more efficient. With the new Outlook Starbucks feature, you can schedule an entire meeting with the push of a single button and by sending just one email.
With the new Outlook Starbucks plugin, planning a coffee meeting will be the easiest task in the world. All users need to do is install the update, and then look for the Starbucks button that should appear in the upper-left corner of the window.
The Outlook Starbucks button is represented by the famous Starbucks logo featuring the white mermaid on a green background.
The function can be used for multiple tasks. For example, when scheduling a semi-formal meeting with a team member, you can add a special Starbucks invitation to your email. All you have to do is click on the designated button, select the “Let’s Meet at Starbucks” option, and then search the nearest coffee shop location.
The recipient of the email will then receive your invitation in the form for a small map, explaining how to get to your chosen location.
Another useful feature of the add-in is the fact that you can also send Starbucks eGifts. After pressing the designated button, you must choose the “Send Gift Card” option and then choose from a variety of cards that will accompany the voucher.
Momentarily, they have cards for celebrating Spring, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Best Teacher in the World, and other widely used formats. After selecting the card, you are given a $10, 25$, $50, $100, or Other option for a Starbucks voucher.
Payment is realized via Visa, but they do offer an “Add new payment method” feature. After checking to see that everything is in order, just press the “Send eGift card” button, and your person of choice will enjoy a free caffeinated drink.
There are two things that some users are not so happy about. For starters, the add-in only works for Windows; Mac users will have to wait until the extension is compatible with iOS.
Another small problem is the fact that when you send the invitation, you are not guaranteed a free table at your chosen Starbucks location. There are chances of getting there and having to take your drinks to go.
