This study can alleviate the problem of shortage of donated human organs.

Rats and mice are not the same but apparently, they can receive organs from one another. Scientists were able to grow mouse pancreas inside a rat. They used stem cells in order to make the organ grow. After that, they just transplanted it to the mouse.

This experiment was made in order to help mice which did not have pancreases. The researchers used mouse stem cells and implanted them in the body of a rat. This is a unique technique that hasn’t been used before.

Scientists who completed this experiment discovered that this technique could also help reverse diabetes in these mice. This could also be a revolution for people. Researchers believe that these experiments could go even further. They believe that human organs could be grown inside pigs or cows and could be transplanted to people.

If this could be possible it is going to be the best innovation for people. This would help people who are in desperate need of a transplant but can’t find a matching donor. The compatibility would be great because in order to grow the organs the scientists would use human stem cells.

This study can alleviate the problem of shortage of donated human organs. It could also be a better alternative than waiting for a donor. The researchers that completed this study mentioned that nobody should get its hopes up because there is a big difference from rats and humans.

Humans are more complex and this technique might not be as effective as it was for mice and rats. They mentioned that they need to make more studies on this topic before they can be sure it is really effective for mice too.

After that maybe they would try to see the effects on people. They mentioned that this could take several years before testing it on people. This might not happen at all because they are not sure the technique is effective and safe enough.

Despite the fact that it might not be the best solution for people, it is still a great technique that could save animals that need transplants. Let’s hope that the researchers make more studies on this topic.

What is your opinion about this technique? Do you think that it could work for people too?
