While United States president Donald Trump continues to have strong doubts in what concerns climate change, new federal reports are saying that our planet continues to warm. Actually, it seems that 2017 was one of the hottest years in history. The global surface temperatures were only surpassed by those in 1880. In terms of overall temperatures, only 2016 was a warmer year. According to another analysis, which the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration conducted, 2017 was actually the third hottest year in history. The agencies are saying that even if their rankings regarding last year’s temperatures might not be identical, the situation is the same. The temperatures keep on growing and climate change keeps on manifesting in ways we could not even imagine.
Both reports are saying that the five hottest years in history have all occurred since 2010. According to Gavin Schmidt, director of the Goddard Institute, even if in some parts of the world the temperatures are colder than usual, the overall trend is still a warming one. And it has been going on for the past 40 years. This warming is the most obvious in the Arctic area, where ice keeps on melting. In the United States, every state had annual temperatures that were above average. Yet, Donald Trump keeps on doubting climate change and makes sure to make his opinion known on social media.
2017, one of the hottest years on record
In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!

According to scientists, climate change is not going to disappear as long as people will keep on burning fossil fuels. The release of greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide are pushing the temperatures higher. This triggers extreme weather events that have begun being extremely dangerous for people and for productivity. This is no longer something that people should treat as a myth. Climate change is real and will happen whether or not Donald Trump wants to admit it.
