Marvel superheroes The Fantastic Four will sneak, blaze, stretch and clobber their collective way into theaters this coming summer. Now the most recent iteration of the first band of Marvel’s genetically modified misfits can say they have an epic trailer marking the occasion.
The new clip features a monologue delivered by Doctor Franklin Storm who uses the insatiable need of humankind to discover, then invent and build.
When he speaks the first glimpse of the superheroes can be seen –Invisible Woman/Sue Storm played by Kate Mara, Mister Fantastic/Reed Richards played by Miles Teller, The Thing/Ben Grimm played by Jamie Bell and Human Torch/Johnny Storm played by Michael Jordan – as they are preparing to head into space.
However, with each new discovery, risk and sacrifice are present and consequences take place, said Dr. Storm as a storm of action starts: a number of explosions, quick looks at Human Torch turning to flames, The Thing busting out of rock that he is encased inside and of Mister Fantastic reaching out, way out for the first time.
Simon Kinberg the producer of Fantastic Four said the first movie trailer would feature an Easter egg for the fans. That happened to by a list of numbers that when plugged into a web browser takes the user to a Wikipedia page about Latveria the fictional country the Dr. Doom the Four’s arch nemesis rules over.
The director of the Fantastic Four said Philip Glass the famed composer would score the movie with help from Marco Beltrami.
Glass had great experience in writing music for films as he has earned three Academy Award nominations for Kundun, Notes on a Scandal and The Hours. However, the Fantastic Four marks a first blockbuster superhero film for him. Beltrami is different. He is well versed in scores for action films that are over the top such as Terminator 3, Snowpiercer and The Hurt Locker.
