Unfortunately, there are many people in the world losing the battle against cancer. It is a sad event indeed, but it is more regrettable when a young mother is the one who fades from memory. Pregnant woman with cancer dies after giving birth.
Cara Walter Combs, who sacrificed everything in order to give her baby a fighting chance, passed away on Tuesday morning, after giving birth to a healthy baby girl. Sometime this year, the brave mother was diagnosed with state IV melanoma, an aggressive form of screen cancer. Her doctors urged her to begin treatment immediately.
After pondering her situation, the 38-year-old St. Louis mom, decided that it is in her baby’s interest to postpone the treatment after giving birth, but that would mean Cara will have to wait at least 28 weeks until she can effectively begin treatment.
It would seem that nothing could have swayed the young mother into changing her decision and so she waited until the baby was ready for delivery. Note the fact that this wasn’t Cara only child. In fact, the woman had 3 more lovable children at home, waiting for their mother to come home from the hospital.
The doctors in charge of the case cautioned Cara that her course of action would have severe consequences, due to the fact that her cancer had already spread in her body. But the mother already made the decision to wait another 28 weeks until she can safely deliver the baby.
According to her own Facebook post, Cara said that her condition has stricken her with such a force that her whole world fell apart in a matter of seconds. Moreover, it would seem that Mrs. Combs already saw a doctor a year before. The doctor told her there is nothing to worry about and gave her a clean bill of health.
Several months have passed since that consultation and Combs’s life seemed to make a turn for the better. She had 3 healthy and happy kids, a lovable husband and good home. Then again, it would seem that fate had something else in store for her.
The young mother gave birth to Sheya on the 5th of December. Her doctors advised her to begin treament 48-hours after giving birth. Unfortunately, it would seem that they were unable to do anything for her. Cara Walters Comb passed away peacefully on the 8th of December.
She may have departed from this world, but her legacy lives on.
