Samsung is not letting its smartphone troubles drag down all of its other departments. The company has just unveiled the updated version of their Galaxy TabPro tablets. It comes with an update in performance and design thanks to the new gold coloring.
In regards to its updated performance specs, the new version of the Galaxy TabPro S tablet has double the RAM capacity of the previous model, from 4 GB to 8 GB. Additionally, Samsung has also added a 256 GB SSD by default. These are the only improvements in performance to an already high-quality tablet.
The new drive capacity, speed, and memory will facilitate any demanding tasks run on the tablet. Its 2.2 GHz Intel Core M3 processor is no slouch either and it runs with barely any or no ventilation noise at all.
The Galaxy Tab Pro S Gold Edition features a 5,200 mAh battery which can be fully charged in only two and a half hours. According to Samsung, it can last up to 10.5 hours in video playback. However, the gorgeous 12-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display, with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 will probably be the main obstacle to a long battery life. As always, the developer’s claims about battery must always be taken with a grain of salt as not to be disappointed by the actual results.
The tablet also features a modest 5-megapixel back camera with autofocus as well as the same version in the front. Cameras aren’t the reason why you buy a tablet in the first place, but they good enough for selfies and video chats.
A feature that sets it apart from other Samsung tablets is that it runs on Windows 10 instead of Android. This might make it more appealing to PC users interested in a tablet or those switching from Microsoft devices.
The Galaxy TabPro S Gold Edition is currently available at Best Buy and Samsung’s official website for $999.99. The price isn’t that much higher compared to the current version of the tablet which costs $899.99. However, it also comes with a keyboard cover, unlike other similar products from Samsung’s competitors.
