A Brooklyn teen charged as an adult after killing her mother and the mother’s boyfriend has been partying in Times Square on the New Year’s Eve while the two were lying dead in their apartment.
Destiny Garcia, a 15-year-old girl has been charged with double second degree murder and criminal possession of weapon. According to the detectives the girl confessed to the murders.
The victims, Rosie Sanchez, 38 and Anderson Nunez, 40, have been shot to death on December 27 in the apartment where they lived on Batchelder Street.
Destiny Garcia declared that the reason she shot her mother, Rosie, was that she was abusing her and her boyfriend did nothing in this regard.
However, according to Robert Boyce, the NYPD Chief of Detectives, the investigators don’t think it was self-defense. Garcia told the police that her mother was abusive in the past so this was no reason to go get a gun and shoot her.
A few days before Christmas the girl has called a male friend and told him that she was being sexually assaulted by Nunez. The boy who was at a boarding school upstate took a gun and traveled to Destiny’s house in Brooklyn. Garcia hid the gun in a drawer until December 26 when she confronted her mother.
After shooting her mum in the head Nunez went into the room and tried to stop the girl who also shot him. However the men has only been wounded and continued to fight Destiny who started screaming for help. That is when her friend took the gun and fired Nunez in his back.
Destiny has ended up by stabbing Nunez more than 30 times and then also stabbed her already dead mother. The two friends left the apartment immediately after.
Destiny crashed at her father’s, Rodolfo Richardson telling him she had a fight with her mother and she needs shelter.
After not getting any sign from her daughter for a few days, Destiny’s grandma has called the police who went to the Brooklyn apartment and found the two lying dead.
The girl has been easily found by the police in her father’s house and took into custody where she admitted killing the couple but the boy is still to be found.
Destiny has been questioned by the police in the presence of her father and then she was charged with double murder and criminal weapon possession as an adult.
