The hoverboard that can actually fly can be yours for 19,000$.
This Christmas, a new, futuristic device was on a lot of people’s wish lists. The people who got them, expected to be floating in the air, like the name of the device suggests, but all they got were some flames. The ArcaBoard can actually hover, but the hovering will leave your wallet empty, as it costs 19,000 $.
The ArcaBoard can float, with the help of 36 electric fans that blast towards the ground. The board can lift a person that weighs up to 243 pounds for about 3 minutes. There is another version of the board though, that can only lift up to 176 pounds, but it can do it for 3 minutes longer than the other one. The board can be controlled by moving your body in the direction you wish, or if you are not that adventurous, you can do it from your phone as well. The charging of the battery takes around 6 hours, but if you have enough money to spend, then we advise you to buy the charging dock that will charge your battery in only half an hour, for 4,500$.
The size of the ArcaBoard can be compared to the one of a flat screen TV, from the first generation and it takes two people to carry it. The board can fly with maximum 20 kilometers per hour and can lift the rider up to 12 inches. This seems to be a really improved hoverboard, compared to that created by Hendo, which can only lift the rider 1 inch from the ground.
Arca Space Corporation is a small company that does mainly rockets and drones and has recently launched this new device on the market. Because Arca has worked with the Romanian government and with the European Space Agency, you can be certain that their latest product won’t fail you. When asked if it the board was just a concept, a representative from Arca said that it was a functioning prototype, not just a concept. He also said that people who buy it should expect it to be loud, and compared the sound to the one a motorcycle makes.
Because Arca Space Corporation has done balloons and stratospheric rockets in the past, it comes as no surprise that the ArcaBoard is at the top of the hoverboards. The makers of the board say that it can float from any surface, including water and sand. The board is now available to be preordered.
This hovering board is the closest device to the board that was featured in the Back to the Future, sci-fi movie. And now, with the ArcaBoard that can actually hover, we can finally say that we are one step closer to the flying devices that will transport us on long distances.
