Soylent announced a new addition to its line of powders, Coffiest, the new power source. One might remember the meal replacement beverage from Soylent. This flavored and nutritious product comes in both powder, and pre-mixed liquid varieties and its producers believe it can easily replace a meal. But the 400 calories glass was just the opening act.
Soylent has decided to switch the morning coffee with 400 calories of liquid nutrition, similar to regular Soylent, but now with coffee flavor and caffeine addition. It contains all the soy and algal oil-based nutrients of the Soylent you know but with roasted coffee.
The new and improved drink promises the same energy boost as a cup of actual coffee. Soylent representatives mentioned that by adding coffee, the drink has a better taste, giving it a hint of chocolate flavor.
The new product which follows U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines, promises that the drink is vegan, nut-free and lactose-free. The drink has 75 mg of caffeine in each bottle along with a compound which is used to increase relaxation.
The company’s fans no longer have to consume two different liquids in the morning. Each bottle is said to contain 20 percent of the daily recommended vitamins.
Moreover, the company engaged in donating a meal to a child in need for every case of Coffiest sold. Every time someone will replace their dinner, lunch, or breakfast with one of these drinks, they will give a free meal to someone who will surely appreciate it more.
Soylent founder, Rob Rhinehart mentioned that many people have a habit of skipping breakfast and, with their drinks, they want to supply a healthy, convenient and very tasty option. He also managed to live off Soylent for 30 days in the hope that he would set an example of suitable food.
This meal replacement first became popular in Silicon Valley where busy people didn’t want to leave their computers but also wanted a healthy meal without spending too much time and money.
The packs of twelve are available for sale in U.S and Canada between $37-$39.
