Although Facebook is a highly used social network, with an outstanding number of 1.49 billion users, not all its features are very popular among the users and here we can include the Notes section, a blank page which offers you the possibility to write and extended status and to add photos. The feature, found on the left side of each profile, didn’t attract many people. The last time it was updated was in 2010.
Now, it seems that Facebook wants to change that and somehow to surpass the popular blog platforms by making some updates which will probably make people post notes more often.
The update will make the feature aesthetically pleasing and it will give it the possibility to be personalized. Moreover, the users will be able to share the notes not only with their friends, but also with everyone they want.
Isaac Salier-Hellendag, responsible with Facebook’s interface, stated that the new update will offer users the possibility of posting cover photos that better represent the topic they are writing about in a note. Also, “you can caption and resize photos, and format your text into headers, quotes or bullets.”
Facebook has always been a reliable friend when it came about people wanting to share their thoughts and feelings with others and now the updated notes section extends this possibility, so get prepared to interact more often with your online friends.
With new text formatting options and cover photos, Facebook seems to be willing to encourage people to write more often, thus making the social platform a place where they can speak their mind. This, of course, will lead to a growth in Facebook’s popularity.
Unfortunately, this new update can be used with all its options only on a desktop. Composing will be limited for other devices. Facebook didn’t announce yet if this is going to change.
