Gaming headsets are not particularly known for their premium sound quality, as most developer focus more the design and fit of the headphones. However, audiophiles gamers are in for a great change thanks to Logitech’s new G533 wireless gaming headset.
Shifting away from its previous generation of headphones, the G933, which was mainly intended for consoles, the G533 can only be used on Windows PCs. However, it still uses most of the same Pro-G audio drivers.
The main feature of the new gaming headset is the DTS headphone:X 7.1 Surround Sound. This is what it makes them truly stand out from the rest of the overcrowded market of expensive gaming headset. According to Doug Sharp, Logitech’s global product manager for gaming audio revealed that the technology replicates accurately the placement and audio position of 7.1 surround system. This allows users to wear all in-game environmental effects in the manner that developers intended to, like determining the distance and direction of an enemy.
Furthermore, the Pro-G drivers are made with various hybrid mesh materials which deliver clear audio lows and highs with minimal distortions, a feature specific to only high-end audiophile headphones. The G533 gaming headset has many features among which is the ability to customize the volume levels for each of the seven audio channels. Its wireless range has also been upgraded to 15 meters from the only 12 meters that the previous generation was capable of.
The G533 is even capable of maintaining a strong signal in areas with high electromagnetic interference, such as convention halls, where there are multiple wireless signals in a small location. Additionally, the gaming headset includes an ultra-low latency connection which minimizes lag between the game and what you are hearing. While watching movies or other types of streaming media, the headset is able to provide lag free performance.
Besides its incredible performance, the gaming headset also features an incredible design, weighing only 0.77 pounds. It uses an over-the-ear design with ear pads made of sports mesh which allows your ears to skin to breathe. They can easily be removed for a proper cleaning. It includes a foldable microphone with noise canceling and an equalizer. The rechargeable batteries can last up to 15 hours on a single charge.
The Logitech G533 wireless gaming headset will be available around the world starting later this month for the price of $150.
