Major smartphone companies like Apple and Samsung are starting to feel a certain degree of competition from Chinese manufacturers which have started to offer premium devices at more affordable prices. However, they don’t have the same brand recognition an iPhone, which is a large part of the smartphone’s price.
One of the most anticipated devices this year from the Chinese company Xiaomi is set to be officially revealed in February. However, most devices are usually leaked in smaller or larger degrees much sooner before their due date. This is the case with the Xiaomi Mi 6, which has formed quite an anxious potential customer base since it was first revealed.
A new series of reports originating from China reveal that the Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone has an impressive benchmark performance score of 210,329 compared to the iPhone 7 Plus, which only has a score of 183,106 despite its price. If these scores are confirmed as genuine, then it means that the phone will reign above any currently available handset. It remains to be seen how the hugely anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 will compare.
Industry experts believe that this score is due to the fact that the Xiaomi Mi 6 is equipped with Qualcomm’s newest chip, the Snapdragon 835. The chip itself was announced a while back and it was officially revealed in all its splendor at the Consumer Electronics Show. It boasts massive performance upgrade and energy efficiency over its predecessors.
Besides its GPU, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has also been reported to feature a 5.15-inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440. We also know that it’s likely to come with a dual rear camera setup with 12- megapixel sensors as well as duel-LED flash and autofocus with phase detection. However, only a 4 MP camera will be included at the front of the smartphone.
In regards to its other technical specs, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in two variants depending on the amount of RAM and storage capacity you prefer. One model will have 4GB of RAM and 64 GB storage while the most expensive version has 6GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Both models are likely to come with a USB-C port.
What do you think about the scores?
